Let’s be just to our own children
بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
السلام علیکم ورحمۃ اللہ وبرکاتہ
Dear Reader!
It was a custom of the Jahiliyyah period that people usually did not feel happy on the birth news of their daughters and they would try to bury them alive. In the modern era as well we are witnessing prejudice and discrimination towards female children in our society which is not at all acceptable according to Islamic teachings.
Narrated An-Nu'man ibn Bashir:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
Act equally between your children; Act equally between your sons. (Sunan Abi Dawud 3544)
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone has a female child, and does not bury her alive, or slight her, or prefer his children (i.e. the male ones) to her, Allah will bring him into Paradise.
(Sunan Abi Dawud 5146)
Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever has three daughters, or three sisters, or two daughters, or two sisters and he keeps good company with them and fears Allah regarding them, then Paradise is for him. (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1916)
So, Let’s be just to our children.

قسمت عروج پر ہوئی تب بو تراب کی
بھر پور اک نگاہ بھی ڈالی نہ جاسکے

جنت کا نہ ہے ارماں نہ خواہش ثواب کی
یو سف کا حسن ماند ہے گران کے سامنے
پھر کیوں مثال دیتے ہوخوشبو، گلاب کی
محتاج دستگیری ہوں آقا میں اس گھڑی
جب سختیاں ہوں روز جزا میں حساب کی
میں دور رہ کے آپ سے بے چین ہوں بہت
زندہ میں اک مثال ہوں اب اضطراب کی
سرکار سے وفا میں ہیں کامل ضرور ہم
ہمت نہ ہو گناہ کے گر ارتکاب کی
میرے لیے ہی رفعتیں لکھا خدانے سب
سنت کا متبع ہوں رسالت مآب کی
اظہرؔ کو دے مدینے میں دوگز زمیں خدا!
حالت پہ رحم کردے تو خانہ خراب کی
